About Me
I was born in Champaign, Illinois, but grew up in Berkeley, California (and although I didn't wear Birkenstocks, I DID eat granola and protest apartheid). When I was in 2nd grade, I decided that I wanted to be a teacher.  My favorite subject in school was math.   Now, I live with my husband, two teenage sons, two cats and two goldfish.  I began teaching in 1991, and Ms. Cantwell’s sister was in my first 3rd-grade class.  I’ve taught first through fourth graders in the San Lorenzo Unified School District, in four different schools (Edendale, Del Rey, Colonial Acres, and Dayton), but I've been at Dayton for the past 11 years.  I love reading, going on trips with my family, watching my boys play baseball (unless they are pitching), drinking iced coffees and everything about the islands of Hawaii.
